The Men's Connect Ministry will meet on Thursday at 5 pm each week!

We will dine together at the FCC Fellowship Hall as we discuss the Core 52 devotional book as well as other issues the men want to discuss! Come join us each week!

Mission

The mission of the FCC Men’s Ministry is to glorify GOD, build honest and meaningful relationships with other men, and reach those without a relationship with Jesus Christ with the Gospel. The Men’s Ministry provides men opportunities to connect with a group of brothers, where together they can grow stronger in the Christian faith. The Men’s Ministry encourages growth by providing the guidance and understanding that is only found in meaningful relationships with other Godly men, no matter the stage they may be in with their Christian walk. We will strive to develop men of integrity, intimacy, identity, and influence.

Vision

The vision for the FCC Men’s Ministry is to be the backbone that drives a consistently growing church where people from all walks of life can experience the love of Jesus. We will strive to reinforce the core values of FCC by encouraging men to take a biblical lead or encouragement in all functions of the church with the goal of making more disciples for Jesus Christ.

Goal and Objectives

The need for Godlier men is necessary for the transformation of the church, kingdom growth, and strengthening of the family. The Men’s Ministry will strive to encourage men by forming the strong and intimate relationships that Jesus and His disciples had. The Ministry’s goals are:

  • 1). Develop friendships - In John 15:15, Jesus calls His disciples friends. That these original twelve men had the most holy teacher and still managed to argue about who was the greatest is indicative of men and their desires gone wrong. Jesus, in John 15:17, tells them to love one another.
  • a. Pray for one another – James 15:16 tells us to confess our sins and pray for one another. This can only happen if we have Godly friendship. Being able to discuss personal struggles with other men who have similar struggles can be a relief that cannot be found in other relationships.

    b.  Gather with Saints – Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to neglect gathering with one another for encouragement.
    c.  Read scripture – Psalms 119:105 tells us that God’s Word is a lamp to walk by and a lamp to illuminate our paths.

  • 2)  Develop the virtues found in 1 Timothy 6:11 (Righteousness, Godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness)
  • a. Scripture is the lifeline for the believer, and studying it with others clarifies its truth. The idea is not about creating a Bible study but used to develop the virtues outlined in 1 Timothy 6:11 and pursue righteousness, Godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.
  • 3)  Discipling – In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commissions us to go and make disciples of all nations and to teach them to obey His commandments. We will endeavor first to become men of integrity, intimacy, identity, and influence.
  • a. Integrity – This should be shown in our convictions, congruence (walk matches with talk), and character.
  • b. Intimacy – Develop an intimacy with God, wife, and other men.
  • c. Identity – Develop an understanding that our primary identity is found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • d. Influence – Develop men who want to influence others in the church and community. Develop men who are equipped to train their children to take their influence into the future in God’s glory.
